WHAT I BELIEVE
AI changes the tools. It doesn’t change what makes an organisation exceptional.
We’re understandably obsessed with what technology can do: what becomes faster, what gets automated and what one person can suddenly achieve.
But the fundamentals haven’t disappeared. Clarity. Trust. Judgement. Talent. Leadership. Agency. The ability to make good decisions and get things done.
I work on that human system, the conditions that allow talented people and ambitious organisations to perform at their best.
EXPERIENCE
I know what it takes to grow without making everything slower and more complicated.
I was giffgaff’s first People leader, helping build its leadership, culture, performance and ways of working as the business grew to around 170 people and more than £500 million in revenue.
It was an unconventional organisation that consistently outperformed its size. Its advantage was not simply its technology or business model. It was the clarity, trust, ownership and freedom built into how people worked.
Through Alchemy Labs, I later worked with Beavertown over two years as it scaled following Heineken’s investment, helping its leadership and culture evolve without losing what made the business distinctive.
That is the thread running through my work, building the leadership capability, organisational effectiveness and operating practices that allow ambitious organisations to keep outperforming their size.
